Need help around the house? Maybe cutting the grass or cleaning up your dorm for a special occasion. How about a handyman to mount a TV or build a fence? No matter the need there’s always people with the skills that can help. Kutoto is a service marketplace that connects people and/or small businesses needing tasks or small jobs done with local providers who can do it for them. At the same time, it provides an easy way of earning extra income to people who have the spare time to pick up these jobs.
If you need to outsource your errands, tasks or chores, the location-based iPhone app connects you with trusted local people (providers). With many sites offering platforms to offer and request services, Kutoto goes a step further with a thorough background check, interviews and trained professionals to ensure you’re meeting and working with someone you can have confidence in. The team told us about their first request posting using the app:
“Our first requests came from a 60 year old women who used her iPhone to put in a request for snow shoveling after the snow storm in Montreal. We were a little skeptical because we didn’t expect a 60 year old picking this app up so quickly and actually using it. We came there and it turns out her husband is in a wheelchair and she couldn’t do it. She was stuck in the house and couldn’t get out. One of our Trusted Providers, who are thoroughly background checked, interviewed and trained came to help her out. The Kutoto app is amazing because it helps people in the local community, brings people together and is a great way to make extra money for people with time on their hands.”
When testing out the app ourselves we decided to place a posting for the opportunity to clean our 1700 square foot office space in the heart of Toronto. The slick and intuitive interface allowed us to post and review other postings of those looking for services. We were quickly connected with Stephanie, who lived near our Queen and Spadina location and offered to provide us with her services for $60, which would of taken about 2 hours to complete. Compared to other cleaning services in Toronto that would of charged us $100 – $120 we were not only thrilled with the savings, but assured because she was a trusted provider by Kutoto.
Upon her arrival at our location, there still was a bit of apprehension, was she going to do a good job, is she authentic in her profile, can this network be trusted, those were all the thoughts that anyone might come across when trying such a new service. They were completely squashed once we met and backed up Kutoto’s promises – she told us about her interview with Kutoto and the time they took to ensure that she wasn’t only skilled and personable but someone we would want to recommend.
In two hours she completely cleaned our office space, wiping floors and windows, mopping and everything else you could imagine from a cleaning service. We discussed her goals in education and how the money was being used to help her out while she went to school and followed her acting dreams.
Before the meeting we also were able to chat with her in-app, discuss pricing, what was needed, timetables and had the guided fulfillment with the Kutoto team – which we must say has set a customer service level never before seen. Although Kutoto is only available in Toronto and Montreal currently, the app is expected to roll out throughout Canada in the near future. But those lucky enough to be in the mentioned cities will find postings following categories such as Pick Up and Delivery, Around the House, Handyman, Food and Health, Teach Me, Virtual Assistant and Other.
If you’re looking for help running errands or are looking for ways to make additional revenue Kutoto is the service marketplace that will connect people together to get things done.
