Tile app tracks distance from where you are to your lost item. The tiny accessory lets you attach it to your important belongings: keys, purses, laptops, wallets, your bike or anything else you lose often or cherish can be affixed with Tile tags. With the Tile iOS app, you can track where the tag is, sort of like the hot or cold game you might of played as kid, it lets you know if you’re getting closer or further away (within a 50-150 foot range). An audible alert can also be set to let you search by sound.
What sets Tile up from the other accessories that alert you where your keys are; the device is also built with GPS locations and uses crowd sourcing if your item gets stolen. Thus creating the largest lost and found ever. For instance if you leave your wallet at a restaurant instead of scouring your home, pant pockets, couch and laundry basket, you can mark it as lost in Tile, this puts all other Tile app users on alert. And once a Tile user gets in range of your personal Tile, you are discreetly alerted the GPS location. Finding everything just got a whole lot easier.
Tiles is available for pre-order currently and is expected to ship later this year or early 2014.
