We covered Huddlers a few weeks ago, a Toronto founded application to help team leaders manage and organize events related to recreational sports. That same concept can be applied to many ideas, one of which to come about is CANU—An application that makes it fast and simple for you to share and join spontaneous activities on the go. “Stop scrolling through the past. Look into the future, join the fun and be part of something real”, says co-founder Didrik Persson.
With CANU you propose or become inspired to find an activity to do. The community app helps share moments with friends or create new one’s while finding activities. A couple years ago members of the New-Startups.com team had a similar problem to that which Didrik Persson, Roger Calaf, and Vitali Poluzhnikov had. The founders of CANU noticed the difficulty to get together with people or find things to do in Stockholm. Our staff created DayForTwo.com to handle the same problem, but that idea quickly fell in the landfill of fallen ideas. But new startup CANU uses the crowd to source things to do, while DayForTwo provided full-blown itineraries.
It’s clear to see that people just want to be inspired to find things to do, or join pre-planned activities—that’s where CANU shines. With the application you discover across the world what’s out there or create your own and then you get together with others and have fun. The app is available for free and hopes to hack into the ‘social events’ space.
