Stand In lets you create interactive prototypes straight from Photoshop without a developer and updates the changes on your mobile platform for testing in real-time. Based on the teaser video (found on their website) it will undoubtedly be the next essential tool for every designer brining mobile design to life.
It becomes very difficult to explain interactive components on a still frame—clients can’t perceive the thought process and storytelling the workflow can sometimes leave everyone more confused instead of excited. Once launched the Photoshop companion adds screen transitions and animations to show how an app design works instead of having to tell someone about it.
By letting users experience prototypes without developer involvement increases communication between everyone involved in a production process. Prototypes that feel native give creators a chance to share without restraint how components should interact—making us very excited for the launch of Stand In and designers should be too.
