A conceptual design by Valentina Vecchia and Marilena Alberga the One Shot is a foldable bicycle that can be transported easily anywhere. Utilizing a fixed-belt system, the solution for the growing cycling community should be touted as a real-world solution for compact urban environments. Many of the solutions for tourists and city based residents are solid state frames that avoid flexibility—causing a convenient access to bicycles but not always the best solution for maxim space utilization.
The compact bike by Vecchia and Alberga creates a solution for tourists to access efficient transportation, reduces city space occupation or increases number of accessible bikes in one location, and provides a functional bike to deal with taking bikes on public transport or storing away. Space, portability, and weight all hamper commuting with a bicycle. One Shot has a versatile design feature using a main hinge connecting the two wheels, which will also release the seat and pedals when the wheels are split apart. Perfect for every type of cyclist, the compact handlebars also make it easy to steer the bike as if it was any other type of bike.
