Drones! It’s a technology that everyone on our staff hopes will be everywhere very soon, and the anticipation hurts. Over the past few years we’ve covered a few tech solutions involving drones, yet still to this day none of us at our headquarters have had the pleasure to come across one in the wild. That may change soon, however, with Nixie.
Maybe Nixie will be flying around our space very soon, along with yours. The miniature drone is worn like a regular watch, Inspector Gadget style. Wrapped around your wrist the device can be called upon to do a few small tasks. With an accompanied mini-cam the quickest idea that comes to mind is a mini-drone for super selfies.
A finalist of the “Make it Wearable” competition by Intel, the concept was designed by Christoph Kohstall, Jelena Jovanovic and Michael Niedermayr. Nixie is the first wearable and flyable camera that can called upon for take-off at any moment, giving perspectives never realized before from wearable tech. Say goodbye to those awkward extend-arms and say hello to the flying selfie copter!
