ScoreBreak is a digital scorebook for competitive sports teams. Taking statistics with ScoreBreak enables automatic game film break-down. ScoreBreak is currently available for basketball, with support for men’s lacrosse and other sports to follow.
ScoreBreak’s technology advances current coaching practices by providing coaching staffs the ability to review fully edited and indexed game footage without previous required time investments. Manual editing processes demand an industry-average three man-hours per breakdown; ScoreBreak can be used to review a breakdown of a game’s first half during half time.
ScoreBreak features
- Instant film breakdown
- Digital scorebook
- Private team network
- In-app video clip messaging
- Outsourced film breakdown service
Pricing and Availability
ScoreBreak is available as a free download on the App Store. Annual Premium team licenses subscriptions cost $1,099.99 and come with 3 free outsourced breakdown tickets. Additional tickets $39.99/breakdown, with bulk pricing available.
To best utilize ScoreBreak software, a team will require additional tools to effectively capture and upload game film.
Required equipment for video record and upload
- Digital camcorder capable of creating MP4 files
- Tripod for stable video recording
- SD card (64GB or greater in size)
- Apple Lightning to SD Card Reader
- Apple iPad (64GB or greater in size)
Use a digital camcorder to record games and scrimmages as MP4 files to a SD card. The digital camcorder will need a tripod to ensure stable video. After video capture, the SD card will be removed from the digital camcorder and inserted into an iPad via a SD card reader.
Both iPad and SD card will require adequate storage space to handle multiple hours of footage. 64GB is the minimum recommendation, adequately coving 6 to 8 hours of HD footage.
Due to power constraints, an iPhone cannot be used with the SD card reader; an iPad is required to transfer recorded video files from SD card. After selecting the transferred video files, ScoreBreak will upload video files, providing members of the team access to the game film and breakdown.
Use of an Apple TV only enhances this value proposition, allowing the coach to wirelessly play the video clips in a coaching meeting or film session.
