Let’s face it, the news is boring. Or at least it used to be, before Headliner, a new streaming video news app that presents round-the-clock headlines in 20-second crowdsourced videos. With an emphasis on content that is both entertaining and informative, and spanning everything from election 2016 to sports to major entertainment news, Headliner gives users everything they need to know, in a format that keeps them watching.
Launched this month, Headliner has found a natural fit with up-and-coming comedians across the country, who have led the charge in delivering news through satire and comedy. The result has “exceeded our expectations for the amount of content being posted and constant app usage,” says founder Caroline Klatt. The app delivers on its promise to cover top news; as for delivery, you’ll find everything from ventriloquy, to news jingles, to unusual characters mixed in (just picture getting your news from a talking cat). The best and most current videos are featured in the app’s Top News feed.
On the app, you can interact with other users and follow your favorite talent. You can also discover new talent in the app’s Explore section, which features a Headliner leaderboard displaying the videos and users garnering the most attention and popularity.
