When was your startup founded? And what stage is your startup currently at?:
2016 – recently gone live
Let us know a bit about your team, who are the key team members and what is their role?:
Myself, Aaron – Previously worked as a project manager within financial services. Spent most of 2015 setting up the business and decided to go full time as of January 2016.
Jessica is our shoot concierge, liaising with client and photographer to organise the photoshoots to the clients unique requirements.
If applicable, what is your growth like? And what milestones has your startup achieved so far?:
We started in small with 2 locations, London and Paris, this year has seen us expand to include 20 of the most frequented tourist destinations worldwide.
Why did you choose this particular idea and concept to build your start-up on?:
I took my partner to Venice for her birthday a few years back, the idea was to return from this beautiful location with photos that documented our journey and we were proud to show off to friends & family. Unfortunately the reality was a few out of focus selfies, pictures we had pestered strangers to take for us and [photos of random buildings clearly taken by an amateur. The photos didn’t represent the wonderful places we had visited and the great time we had.
The idea was born from there, I thought it would be great to hire a local photographer that could also act as a old friend. Not only capturing your travels in a contemporary style but offering advice and tips on places to see and visit.
With the change in attitudes towards photography in recent years (most people are now comfortable taking photos of themselves with cameras on long sticks) and the boom in social media, now is the time to take it that step further with a personal photographer.
Are you looking for funding or are you open to partnership opportunities, and if so, what’s the best way for people to get in contact with you?:
Always happy to hear from companies that would like to partner with us in some capacity. Contact me via my email address ([email protected]) or pop over to our website (pictrip.co.uk) and use our contact form.
