Glastonbury is a small town in Somerset, England and hosts the annual Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts from June 22nd – June 26th. New-Startups.com is not usually about sharing the details about music festivals, but what really caught our attention is the fun Glastonbury festival app available for the iPhone, iPad, Android and Nokia.
The idea of making an app specific to a festival should be the norm in the coming years as we become much more mobile dependent for even more specific tasks, such as enjoying all that can be offered in the Glastonbury Festival. The app is free to download and is bursting with features to help you enjoy the festival. Knowing what bands you want to see and where they are playing is usually the most important aspect for anyone attending a music festival. This app gives a detailed schedule of who and where each band is playing, and once you find the act you’re most interested in – you can either share it, add it to your planner or view a detailed personal map to help guide you to the exact location where your favorite band will be rocking out.
So if you’re attending the Glastonbury Festival, head on over to their website to locate the app necessary for your device. More importantly, if you’re an event organizer, take a page out of what we’ve seen with the Glastonbury app and create an interactive experience for your festival / event that can help attendees find toilets, bar spots, purchase tickets, receive news and schedules, all while letting us share our moods about a particular experience within the event.
