If you’re a fan of the classics (Frankenstein, Oliver Twist and Robinson Crusoe-to name a few) and are a proud owner of an iPad, then you’ll fully appreciate the digitized text and illustrations that comes with the new British Library app. Providing access to over 30,000 books at $2.99 per month, the subscription will expand to entail over 60,000 titles by the end of the year.
Through the British Library’s offering you’ll be able to search their collection, browse via subject, read commentary, view images of original maps, see author margin and inscription notes and download for offline reading. The high-resolution of the images and the design of the content gives readers the experience of reading an original volume of these classic literatures. The collection will also include books from the 18th, 17th and 16th centuries and feature books in Spanish, French, Norwegian, Portuguese and Dutch.
