We’ve reviewed a few file sharing services before: Drops, DropIn and Dropdo and today we wanted to talk about Minus – a simple and easy way to share files across all platforms and devices. Where Minus differentiates from the others is its ability to be a universal accessible tool for users to share photos, music, videos, files or documents on the web and mobile devices.
According to John Xie, cofounder of Minus, “Minus helps people easily and quickly share files online – photos, documents, music, videos, and more. The service is unique in its simplicity and power, and universality – the site works on virtually any Internet connected device and supports any type of file.”
Having recently opened offices in New York and raised $1 million in investment capital from IDG Capital Partners, the company will surely grow and expand to create the simplest, most powerful and universal file sharing platform. To use Minus, users simply visit their website and drag and drop files onto the page. Once files are uploaded users are given a shortlink that they can share with friends, co-workers, family and essentially anyone else.
Available for desktop use on Mac, Ubuntu and Windows, mobile applications for iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone 7, browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome, a Chrome web application and even an API for developers – Minus truly is a universal sharing system.
