We recently covered startup Two of Us, a social platform that lets you send a smile to a stranger and receive one back-which would hopefully make those involved a bit more cheerful. Now we wanted to share how a juice company is trying to make you smile and encourage brand awareness. Israeli juice company Prigat along with advertising firm Publicis Israel has launched an interactive billboard campaign involving “Smile Stations”.
The billboards were outfitted with a huge Facebook ‘Like’ button and positioned in various train stations throughout Israel. So how does it work? Facebook Fans of Prigat, were given the chance to send real-time messages to these interactive digital billboards. If a passer-by noticed the message, and presumably smiled, they were then prompted to press the “Like” button for that particular message. Once the over-sized “Like” button was pressed, their reaction when they first read the message would be broadcasted back to the user who posted that message on Facebook. The user that received the most smiles would then receive various prizes.
By estimations, over 10,000 messages have been sent to these interactive billboards, while thousands of people have responded by hitting the like button, and broadcasting their smile. This was a very clever way for a corporate brand to use social media to further their tagline “Open with a Smile”; if you need a smile and happen to be in Israel, try out one of these stations, we’re sure you’ll “Like” it.
