Recently Macy’s aligned with start-up Tight Fit to help take away the annoyance of finding the appropriate size for clothes to purchase online. Users would fill out a simple three-step profile through which the technology would notify, via a five-point rating system, which products are likely to fit. De Beers, in collaboration with creative agency AKQA and 3d augmented reality makers Holation, have developed an application so user’s can see how De Beers jewelery collection will look on them.
The Downloadable application called “My Forevermark Fitting”, lets users choose which jewelery items are best for them before significant others run to De Beers to purchase that set of earrings which may possibly be returned because it just “doesn’t look right”. The augmented reality application lets users try on pieces from De Beers Forevermark collection with the use of a webcam, which will ultimately show users how earrings or a ring will look against their skin tone, how it shimmers in lighting conditions of their choice or they way it moves when they are worn for real.
The De Beers “My Forevermark Fitting”, is an interesting try-before-you-buy” application that users can use in the comfort of their own homes before making a jewelry purchasing decision.
