With apps readily available for download via your iTunes app store and the Android Marketplace, it made us wonder: Could the online app stores be available as a traditional brick and mortar retail space? The owners of Openspace think so. The online app store recently opened the first physical real-life app store in Boulder, Colorado.
While most stores are going from offline to online, Openspace is doing the opposite, and we think it’s a great idea. While most app purchases work from customer review, peer recommendations and online ratings, there is no place to meet with an “app guru” to discuss an app and help customers be guided toward new applications to increase productivity, fun or general everyday usage.
If your mobile device has a problem it’s easy to find a service provider to fix the problem, but if you have a question about an app or which app to use for a specific task, there really isn’t a place to turn, that’s where Openspace comes into play.
