With the boom of Arduino and 3D printing, adult dreams to invent and build a useful product could never be easier. Sites such as: Thingiverse, Instructables and Make turbo-charge DIY makers with tools, blueprints and instructions to build creations in their own home. While DIY.org gives child gadget inventors the chance to share and sell their creations, Tindie on the other hand lets those that built products using the technologies of their choice to sell home-made products that appeal to adults.
Arduino Holders with Battery Mount Kits, a pocket musical instrument, and a GoPro Timer are just a few of the inventions that can be purchased on Tindie. The site that was made to support people making interesting tech found in it’s first month of action encouraging by enabling makers with $646 in revenue. Tindie doesn’t charge users to post their products, but does take 5 percent of the sale price before sending funds back to the inventor.
Open source, affordable computers and useful DIY makers will revolutionize creativity in each of us and its site’s like Tindie that help support the cause. We wanted to leave you with this inspirational video from Massimo Banzi who helped invent the Arduino, the tiny easy-to-use open-source microcontroller that has inspired thousands of people to create.
