Similar to the Berg Little Printer, the newly crowdfunded mPrinter is an analog printer with a 3” print head that’ll print anything you command it to. From text, Sudoku grids, HTML images, doodles, or fully dynamic data created from custom hosted Javascript environment on their website.
Designed by Andy Muldowney, the mPrinter users open-source software and is a thermal printer – and yes thermal printers are what you usually think of to print receipts. But thermal printers can do much more with its over 200 dpi output resolution.
The printer connects to a computer with either a USB cable or WiFi. The more expensive WiFi option comes built-in with web servers to connect to any network. The mPrinter will also come with an iOS and Android app to manage quick print options and take advantage of its “doodle” feature.
The mPrinter has already reached its Kickstarter goal, but with plenty of days left a minimum pledge of $80 will get you a USB-only mPrinter, while a $125 pledge will get you one with WiFi capabilities.
