On September 10th, INcubes—a Toronto based accelerator set forth their fourth class of startup cohorts. Alertly was one of them with their stylistic and simple security system for home, office, or car. With a plug-and-play solution the cost effective security system lets you easily install and monitor your belongings from the web or via mobile devices.
The off-the-shelf security system comes as a min-pylon styled base station with sensors that connects with an open API that will allow for developers to add on top of the platform. Thus, advancing the opportunity to create new ideas, possibly proximity a based unlocking system or other home automation possibilities.
The INcubes graduate will be launching their Indiegogo campaign today aiming to raise $100,000 in funding to bring their “Nest” for security to every home.
The INcubes program provided Alertly and the other graduates (Fashion Forward, Qoints, Eureka, and LightningPlatform) funding of $15,000 in financing provided by the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), while only taking 7.5% equity. The program provides mentorship, a place to build ideas and “access to diverse pre-money financing.”
