With rich historical variations and regional flavors, Spanish foods borrow from the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, French, Germanic tribes and Moors. The ingredients that excite and spice up their dishes are second to only the spirit filling the lives of the cooks themselves. Discovering food is like discovering a new city or country, and Spain has so much to be discovered beyond just Paella.
The Foodies Larder brings a bit of Spain to your home every month with their tasty Food Hampers. Imagine receiving an inconspicuous box, but once opened the world of Spain jumps out asking you to fill your home with the smells of savory goats cheese, olive oil infused with basil, or chorizo flavored salt. Founders Alejandra Blanco and Nick Ratsey each month handpick a hamper of artisanal foods from various producers from around Spain and deliver it directly to your door.
The subscription boxes are definitely not a new trend, but when it’s coupled with authentic and manually curated products with care and precision the difference from all the rest is astronomical. Based out of Spain, co-founder Nick says “the service is a way for people in the UK to discover unique and delicious food and ingredients from around Spain that they wouldn’t typically find at their local supermarket. It’s a great way for people to keep their larders stocked with authentic Spanish food as we also complement the hampers by providing recipes on our site using some of the various items and ingredients found in the hampers.”
