Let’s meet Startup, Diggernaut:
Website: www.diggernaut.com
https://youtu.be/1KpXrvka6mg
In a few sentences, tell us what your start-up is all about!:
We provide service to easy extract data from websites and turn it into organized sets of data. Service is targeted not only for tech people but also for non-techies. We developed 2 instruments to cover both groups:
1. Meta language, which shorten development and maintenance time
2. Easy to use point&click application that can be used by non technical people
When was your startup founded? And what stage is your startup currently at?:
We started to develop our software Sep 2015, went to closed beta 1 Jun 2016 and now we are in open beta
Let us know a bit about your team, who are the key team members and what is their role?:
Mikhail Sisin – idea architect, developer of digger engine, CEO
Konstantin Sazanov – our CTO, he developed all our stuff for web
Evgeny Solomanidin – Lead developer, he created our chrome app Excavator and compilation engine
David Kostyshock – our CMO, he is doing a lot of marketing
Paul O’Brien – CFO, finances, finances, finances!
If applicable, what is your growth like? And what milestones has your startup achieved so far?:
We are on open beta stage at this moment, so we are trying to get as much as possible feedback from our users. We don’t have many, but hoping to have more soon as we started to market and promote our beta just recently.
Why did you choose this particular idea and concept to build your start-up on?:
I had this idea many years, always wished to create easy to use data extraction framework that could be used anywhere and by anyone. I know how much time it takes to develop let’s say 1000 scrapers on python or perl and maintain them, it becomes that maintenance eat all your time, so cutting down development and maintenance time by using meta-language instead of programming language was one of goals I wanted to achieve.
Second goal was make it possible to be used by non-programmers, that goal most likely is not achieved yet completely, but we are ready to listen and evolve.
Do you have any customer feedback on your product and/or service that you could share?:
That’s what we gathering right now, for now we got just technical requests on what people would like to have, and we are implementing these features. For example some our users wanted to run diggers on their computers, “no problems” we said and created compilation service for them where they can compile digger, download it and run on own server or computer.
Are you looking for funding or are you open to partnership opportunities, and if so, what’s the best way for people to get in contact with you?:
Yes, generally we are looking for funding, anything that creates an opportunities for us or our partners. We have some ideas that cannot be implemented without investments, as it will require more people to accomplish it and of course it will require a time, but for now we are not planning to work on it, even if we get some seed investments, as first we need to improve what we have and get our users happy
Finally, do you have any other comments or information about your product that you would like to add?:
Don’t think so, I tried to answer your questions as much detailed as I could and possible even too much detailed somewhere 🙂
