Are you single and ready to mingle? If you are, we know sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming – combing through friends of friends to only find out your date hates everything (EVERYTHING), or going on a blind date and finding out they may be racist or panning through web profiles to find out during the date that the “match” is actually the wrong gender (Eeeek). Those may sound like over the top examples, but dating can be work, when really it shouldn’t be. MeetMoi takes the work of finding a date away by sending you matches to your phone while you journey around your city as you always would.
Leveraging location-awareness and mobile technology, MeetMoi makes it easy to meet interesting people around you. Available on the iPhone, Android and as a mobile web app – MeetMoi is a matchmaking service that looks for you instead of you looking for “it”.
Founded by Andrew Weinreich and Jeremy Levy in 2007, MeetMoi facilitates meeting people face-to-face right away, instead of scouring through profile information. Users are matched based on their personal preferences (gender, body type, height, etc.) and proximity to create a social dating experience instead of a computer and screen first experience. Once you setup an account and upload a picture, MeetMoi searches for potential matches and gives one hour for you to accept or decline chat requests. If you accept, it’s then up to you to arrange a meeting for drinks, lunch, dinner or anything else you may wish (suggestion – go to Ikea and shop together, it can be more fun then you think).
Looking for love sometimes comes in unexpected places, but when love can be brought to you, maybe it can be at least a little bit simpler. MeetMoi leverages location-based technology with a pleasant UI to take the “work” out of looking for a date. There are a lot of different and new dating platforms coming out regularly, but what MeetMoi does very well is it makes it simple, simple to use and simple to possibly find love.
