The Domespace is a home of the future today. With its UFO shaped form the home augments is position on an axis to take full advantage of the suns energy. Original designer Patrick Marsilli created the idea of a dome-shaped pre-fabricated home to let owners decide if they want more or less sun.
The Marsilli design was originally crafted by Domespace Homes and now is made available for purchase through Solaleya. Solaleya is an eco-friendly creator of homes combining aesthetics, functionality and energy efficiency into dwellings that make a difference while preserving our environment for future generations.
The Domespace itself harbours its rotation system by holding a foundation of the home on a set of steel ball bearings on a circular rail. Rotations can be set by each home owner between one to four inches every second to ensure during cold months more sun comes in and less during summers.
Not only can a home be positioned via rotation in accordance to sun needs, the home can also takes advantage of pivots to switch views from windows or set spaces away from noises. Made with FSC-certified wood, each home can withstand earthquakes up to magnitudes of 8 and winds up to 240km per hour. Solar panels can also be affixed to the outer frame to capture energy for household use.
With Solaleya’s unique aesthetic abilities these homes are free flowing and maybe a home of all ours in the future?
