Our collaboration and chat interfaces for a long time has been the usual comment and reply feed, but HUM seems to try to apply a new approach to how we collaborate by enabling a more inbox looking experience.
The new tool “powers immediate responses, organizes your important conversations, and simplifies messages in a cleaner, smarter design.” By taking the best parts of an inbox HUM applies what we’ve grown accustomed to for collaboration in real time to organize ourselves for a more robust communication.
Once a new chat is started it’s listed amongst the others as a list of topics while synced up with your devices. Everything functions just like an email application with total connectivity but now in real time for correspondence and communication. The other standard mechanisms we expect are also present in the software such as who’s typing and how much, @mention tagging, and most importantly to remove the need for usual “yes and for sure emails” found with replying to show “on-board” status a “+1” feature does just that more efficiently.
Coming very soon, HUM excites us as an email alternative and communication solution to compete with all others.
