Tunessence has one incredible brand position – to make it easy and enjoyable to learn how to play music. Starting with learning to play guitar, the team behind the startup was inspired by their own struggles to learn instruments on the many other applications and softwares on the market. Their aim is make it easier, faster and more enjoyable to learn and speak the language of music.
You dive right into Tunessence once you’ve signed up. Each opportunity to learn comes with the chance to follow along with showing the lesson with a video and accompanying music sheet or through showing tabs or chords so you can follow along and play sounds to songs you love.
As lessons and songs move forward the application highlights the key tabs and music sheet elements in use to help you better understand where your hands and movements need to be throughout an entire song. Guitar lessons from Coldplay’s Yellow, Walk by the Foo Fighters, Wonderwall by Oasis and many more.
Each track listed has a variety of options from interactive tab/chord views, video lessons to show you exactly what to do, and even backing tracks so you can view chords or tabs in specific loop sections, turn off background band tracks, or turn on clicks to maneuver the best learning experience for you.
Tunessence takes guitar instructional videos online to the next level – by making them interactive. They synchronize videos to tabs of the music so you can see exactly what should be played. These tabs are interactive which means you can hear the guitar parts, and loop sections that are harder to follow. The state of the art for learning instruments online are YouTube videos which are hard to follow, and don’t take full advantage of what can be done with software to teach instruments. Tunessence provides all the tools a guitarist needs to learn a song in one place.
