Looks different. Feels Different. Definitely different.
We at New-Startups.com decided to pop open our can of entrepreneurial creativity and show the world what we truly believe our presence to be. We know the large-scale design and structural overhaul is a huge change, but we felt we had to update and improve. And today, we launch our new identity!
Adjusting the Details
The New-Startups.com redesign and rebranding was spearheaded and executed by New-Startups co-founder, Jay Kapadia (@NewStartupIdeas, @JayKapa). As a team, we agreed that the change was necessary to enhance the overall experience. The design drew inspiration from the best and those we aspire to be like (Smashing Magazine, David Airey, and UX Magazine). We wanted to vastly improve the overall aesthetic of the website and also refine the brand to be more in-line with who we are and where we are going.
What’s in a Brand
Through consultations with professionals like David Airey, and Dena Hassibi, along with refinements by co-founder, Maurice Chang (@maurice360five) and the rest of the New-Startups.com family, our new brand mark was established. New-Startups.com is the place where content from multiple streams come together for you to feed on. Not only will we continue to write informative copy about the latest startup ideas, we’ll step-up our crowd and expert sourcing to share even more of what others have found.
The New-Startups.com brand is a visualization of community—multiple avenues of information coming together in one location. The initial concept entailed speech bubbles intersecting and overlapping. This concept was fine tuned to keep the oft-visited shape of the speech bubble while maintaining a modern feel. New-Startups.com intends to share the best new ideas and to provide advice and tips for both aspiring and veteran entrepreneurs alike. We hope to do so by sharing every bit of knowledge, experience, lessons, and of course, inspirations from business ideas that we feel you just have to know about!
And so the birth of the new brand identity was realized. We started from the ground up, by understanding our mission, goals, values, hopes, and who you, our readers, are. We then devised a strategy to build our brand to encompass everything we have to offer. We are so proud to stand behind our brand and what we have accomplished. The new brand is our symbol of commitment to entrepreneurship and the multitude of layers the entrepreneurial experience offers.
The Network and Website
One major motivation to overhaul the website itself, was the growing understanding that we had to restructure our content flow. We’ll be splitting our posts up between those that are our own, and those sourced from our network. By doing this, we are able to shine a brighter light on those sources that are outputting terrific content every single day. We’ve teamed up with a few great contributors to provide a productive and comprehensive meeting place for entrepreneurs, angels and VC’s, and those that just want to be up to date on emerging ideas from the best editors around.
The main purpose of the New-Startups.com Network is to promote amazing, high-quality content in the startup and entrepreneurial industry. We want our readers to benefit from the articles written by our peers as much as we ourselves want to give you our insights.
All the content sourced from the Network is hand picked by our tireless team, to ensure that the articles that you read are of the highest quality. If you ever disagree, let us know!
We understand that it’s a monumental change—navigating from a single list of new startups straight from the homepage, to compartmentalizing the content into two sections: our own, and those from our network. The content sourced from our existing network has helped us become what we are, and the last thing we want, is to run the risk of presenting such high-quality content as our own. You will still find original New-Startups.com content on our home page, with additional posts from our Network members on their own dedicated page.
