SimplyProse offers a centralized and streamlined space for collaboration between writers, copy editors, literary agents, and publishing houses. Users are able to receive productive critique of their work, with all edits and comments appearing directly in the user’s “draft page.” From there, users can choose to send their work to a friend via messaging, join a “team”, or post their work to their profile page and/or the marketplace. The overarching value of the site lies in the community-centric approach to writing, and the connection to literary professionals.
The SimplyProse founders finished 2nd place in Auburn’s Tiger Cage startup competition with judge Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank fame and won $5,000. They are currently in a state wide competition called Alabama Launchpad and are competing for a share of $250,000. Additionally, they are also Auburn’s representative to the SEC Entrepreneurship Competition where they will compete against all the SEC schools for $10,000 and to see which University has the best startup.
