Recently we talked about a new business idea that used the Instagram API to make your iPhone case come to life with your social photos taken and posted through the popular photo sharing app. Printstagram takes it a step further, the new service lets you produce tangible printed products – Posters, Miniprints, Instagram Stickers, Minibooks, and Tinybooks – A Social Print Studio, with the use of the Instagram API.
After ordering a product, posters can be delivered within a week (USA), 2-4 weeks worldwide and 2-5 weeks to the USA and worldwide. Although the wait time does seem a bit longer then expected; the team at Printstagram assures they are working on a quicker delivery mechanism in the future. Also, the only other drawback is if you want to print someone else’s photos. Without an easy workflow other then downloading the pictures yourself and uploading them to Printstagram or getting access to a friends account, there is no way to print pictures other then the ones taken on your own account.
That being said, the service is a priced very fairly and the quality is well put together. Although print may be a dying industry in some fields, it always astounds us how comforting it feels to get anything you can hold, feel, touch and remember. By the way, the Tinybook, so fun, cute and perfect as a stocking stuffer for a friend if you can get access to their Instagram account. Check out some of the types of products you can create below:
