In a few sentences, tell us what your start-up is all about!:
With constant data leak & hack stories, worries about NSA spying, and general uncertainty about data security, we make it possible for normal people to password-protect and encrypt their data with military grade encryption, without any IT skills whatsoever. Safeplicity finally makes encryption available for everyone.
When was your startup founded? And what stage is your startup currently at?:
Technically the company was founded in 2007, whilst the founders were still at university. However, the company was dormant for quite a while, and we are just releasing the Safeplicity now.
Let us know a bit about your team, who are the key team members and what is their role?:
The key team members are a group of computer scientists that met whilst studying at Cambridge University (UK) and is now working hard on developing the software and ensuring top-notch unbreakable security.
If applicable, what is your growth like? And what milestones has your startup achieved so far?:
We have finally finished developing Safeplicity and have received positive reviews from early adopters. We are now working hard on getting mass-adoption.
Why did you choose this particular idea and concept to build your start-up on?:
When we met at Cambridge, we were horrified to find that none of our friends had any real protection for any of the data on their computers – not for lack of wanting, but because they simply didn’t know how. That’s is why we decided to address the problem
Do you have any customer feedback on your product and/or service that you could share?:

Finally, do you have any other comments or information about your product that you would like to add?:
You can use Safeplicity not just to password-protect your folders, but can even make them completely disappear with the “hide” feature, so that no one knows that you have them!
Also, if you tend to forget passwords, please make sure you use the password reminder feature, as your data is encrypted, and without your password there will be no way to recover it 😉
