Scoville is a location-based recommendation engine that lets you discover awesome new places in and around your local area every week. Every Tuesday Scoville will feed you with places that are worth checking out when you recommend places yourself through your Foursquare account. Based on your input, Scoville will compute new areas that you should check out based your recommendations and those from your friends as well.
Scoville was founded by Gerald Goldstein and Itamar Lesuisse, initially as a side project of Kukunu. Currently in Private Beta, but now open to Foursquare users, Scoville encourages you to share the favorite places you visited on every Tuesday via Foursquare. The application also connects into your Twitter and Facebook accounts so that you can continue to follow your current friends and their recommendations easily. Scoville is very simple to use: just use your usual Foursquare app and add the hashtag #toptuesday whenever you check-in or add a tip in an awesome place. Then wait for Scoville to run its magic and present you with an awesome list of new places you should check out.
