If you have a furry companion, you’re going to love this new idea: Stayhound is a BnB for pets. Currently in Beta, and only available in Portland, Stayhound is a service that helps you find a local pet sitter.
Founded by pet lovers themselves, Stayhound will let you view who in your local area is available to take care of your pets, read reviews (in the future), check availability and contact the particular person of your choice. Simply connect via Facebook, search for a pet sitter in your local area (currently only Portland), and finally send a message or reservation request to see if the sitter is available and how much they will charge. Stayhound hopes to integrate online payment in the future and let users post reviews of their experience in order to help those looking for a pet sitter in making a valued decision.
Trusting just anyone to take care of your beloved pet is not a task that many look forward to doing. By implementing an AirBnB style of finding a pet sitter (through user peer reviews and social accountability), Stayhound will help people find trustworthy and friendly pet care providers that can be relied upon when last-minute options are at a minimum.
