Over the last years, I’ve trained well over 80 thousand people worldwide. Imagine two people sitting next to each other in the audience. They both hear the same information, receive the same tips and tools. They both go back to their respective worlds, and one succeeds, and the other doesn’t. This always boggles my mind. How can this be?
To bake your favorite cake successfully, you need to follow a recipe. You need the right ingredients, blend them correctly and bake it all at the right temperature. Get one of these steps wrong, and the cake will be a flop. I strongly believe that success in business, life, and relationships, for that matter, is no different. Keep reading because, in this article, I will share my recipe for success with you.
Vision
You can’t be successful in anything if you don’t have a vision. Your vision is the company’s destination. Imagine stepping into your car, driving away from home, but not having a clear idea of where it is you want to go. You’ll be driving around in circles like a headless chicken, burning through the fuel and not getting anywhere.
When you’re clear on where you want to end up, you can decide which roads to take on how to get there. You might have to make a detour now and then, maybe go off-road, but that’s okay because you’re on your way heading towards your destination. You’re heading towards your vision.
Goals & Action
Upon your journey, you need to set long and short-term goals. A vision is often big, and to get there, you need to take a lot of things into consideration. You’re not going to jump from the bottom of a mountain straight to the top. No, you’re going to take it day by day and one step at a time. Goals are great for breaking down an audacious vision. They simplify it and, when backed up by action, make the vision achievable. Without goals, your vision is nothing more than a nice dream.
Gratitude
From my experience, the most successful people on the planet are also the most grateful. If you aren’t grateful for the things, you have now, what makes you think the universe will grant you anymore? This trait might sound a little hokey, but really, what do you have to lose? Keep your gratitude journal.
Closing
By focusing on a specific thing, you determine a specific outcome. That’s why successful companies don’t focus on selling. This might sound very counterintuitive because selling is such an important factor in the success of a company. They, however, focus on closing. You don’t want to be focusing on the act of selling; you want to be closing because that’s what puts actual money in the bank account.
Focus
All successful people are laser-focused. They don’t let shiny things take them off their path. Where focus goes, energy flows. Avoid distractions and set yourself up for a win.
Team
The most successful companies in history weren’t one-person shows. They had teams. A team does the things you aren’t good at, allowing you to stay in your superpower. There is so much truth in the word team. Together Everyone Achieves More. Whether this is in your company or your personal life. Choose people who compliment you, and together you will go further than one man alone.
Money management
You might have this whole recipe down to the T, but you won’t succeed if you aren’t managing your money. Create accounts and dedicate them to different things. The management alone will give you control and have you feeling at ease. Manage all the money you have, even if it’s not that much, because the rule is; if you can’t manage the small amount, what makes you think you can manage the large amounts to come?
Coach
All successful people invest in their development and have a coach. They are always learning and growing. Staying ahead of the crowd. They learn from people who have walked the path they’re about to embark on. Why would you want to reinvent the wheel?
This is a painful and expensive process. You see, everyone has blind spots. A coach helps you see what you don’t see so you can do the things you thought you couldn’t do. The right coach will support you but also give you a kick up the butt when needed.
As you can see, the recipe for success has many elements. Be sure to incorporate all of these when striving for your company’s best version, yourself, and relationships. It might be hard at times but stick to your guns. Even though it’s simple, success isn’t easy. No great thing ever came easy. And imagine what a great story you can tell the world one day.
