Josh and Matt are two teenagers from McMinnville, Oregon who built their first pair of wooden glasses just over a year ago when Matt needed a new pair and the both of them decided to make a custom design built from wood. The first try broke when they tested it for durability which motivated them to create a strong, stylish piece and after many hours of work and testing, Woodpecker Eyewear was created.
With a great product in hand, they decided to start a Kickstarter campaign in an effort to launch their unique eyewear brand so that others could purchase these unique, environmentally friendly frames.
The sturdy wooden frames can be used for both prescription and non-prescription lenses. They will also include spring hinges and an easy way to remove and replace lenses with a little screwdriver. Custom pouches are also included, sewn by their good friend Annie.
